ive had a search already and supprised that i didnt find my answer....
my question is?
ive just put 33-12.5 tyres on an now need arches but i would like a very wide stance so i need an arch around 5-6" wide,
ive seen the QT jobbies but cant i just make some out of black 5mm rubber and screw them on?
£160 seems really dear or is there more than "a strip of rubber" that comes with it???

Sorry - don't know and can't recall reading of anyone doing extended arches - but am sure there will be

Have you asked the supplier what is in the kit?

Would have thought you could fabricate your own if you were so minded

over here they sell the rubber to make the arches, its just a flat profile with a bit of an edge to it for fixings, sold by the mtr and still bloody expensive, im sure you could just cut up some old conveyor belt type material and attach it with some big self tappers, as long as you have something solid to fix to that is, if i did it to my disco at the moment it would just rip out of the ali panels first time i caught it on something, i will be doing something similar later in the year, so keep us informed and lets see what you come up with.

Been thinking the same myself but cant find any one thats made their own, the price qt want sounds a bit of a rip off, looked on eBay and you can get sheets of 6mm thick 1.4m x 1m sheets of rubber for about 30 nicker should be able to cut strips out of that and bolt up to where the original wheel spats clip on, let us know how you get on and get plenty of pics if you do do it

well its all done!
i took a trip down to my local army surplus store and found some 5mm thick anti vibration rubber matting i bought 2 sheets roughly 1.5m x 1m for £15! :) a box of self tappers £4 and some penny washers £0.50 oh and some nice sharp stanley blades £3.00
total cost - £22.50
time taken - approx 1 hour
i highly reconmend it was extremley easy task and did it on my own before i drove home from work legally ;)

the top pic looks slighty saggy but only due to me running out of washers for extra fixxings, and need a slight trim to get the finished curves but thats it :)

well done. Looks ok i think, im undecided on a personal note. But its very tidy and looks a good job.

What did you screw into? inner arch?

The only thing you'l get pulled for now is that smashed rear fog. :D

Tidy looking job, as others thought about it myself. Was considering using some strips cut from one of those big blue plastic barrels you see on farms etc ... Inspired now will look for one this weekend !!!!..

thanks people!
personally ive gone for the "practical approach" im sure it would or could look better but for the money and for what i use it for...
and i still have enough rubber matting to replace 2 of them if needed...
i took it out last night and drover through a few tight openings with bushes and branches either side of me i pulled my snorkle off! but the arches still look untouched!
