Having spent most of march april and may under the bonnet of the rangie I've come to the conclusion with advise from here and far that the block is suspect .
So I've nothing to loose but try the Irontite path. The old rad is gong back in plus the old thermostat (which were O.K) bypassing the heater matrix flushing out several times before the magic fluid goes in.
Its going in tomorow and will be following instructions to the letter so will let everyone know what the outcome is. For those not familiar with my car its a p38 thor 122k miles loosing a little water , full compression on all cylinders , coolant on plugs 4,6 , missing when cold and ok after that. Nothing ventured nothing gained nothing to loose all to gain.
