I have bought some (4) luminaires for in my shed , they have sensor unit , but only three switch on , it seems they are programmable and obviously I dont have the unit . Does anyone know how to bypass the controller unit which seems to switch the ballast with a 12 dc output ?

6 inch nail accross the terminals? make sure you hold it with insulated pliers and wear rubber shoes

remove controller unit and buy a 240v / 12v transformer As used for LV downlighters wire to light switch and hey presto 12V supply when ya switch the lights on.

From what i have found out there is a unit that powers the two tubes(fluoros) this would seem to be switched by a 12v supply that comes from another unit that recieves a signal thru a sensor in the bottom of the luminaire that houses an infra red reciever as well as pir and light sensing. This unit is programmable via said sensor , but I dont have the controller that sends the signal to the sensor .
I am aware of high volt danger, and have taken suitable precautions . That is why I am asking some questions .

This all sounds very over the top, the lighting with sensors I've been installing at work has 2 extra control wires, and putting 240v on one of those seems to make it work, as if the sensor is just sending out a switch wire.....but yours sounds like it may be different.
