main beam flash not working

just tried to flash a car out this afternoon but found the lights didnt work! think the flash bit on the stalk is fooked!
still got all lights, and high beam but nothing when i flash without any lights on.
ave got a push button switch i was gonna wire in for now till i get a new stalk but dont know what colour wires i'll need to splice into.
done a search and found the link to the wiring colours-is it blue/white on a 95 300tdi and how easy is it to get at!

nice idea but its gonna be a few weeks before i can get one and being polite whilst driving i use mine quite a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah seen em but still gonna be couple of weeks before i can get it fitted-have got today to sort something in the short term and then no chance till middle of 1st week in december!

id be worried if i couldnt go a fortnight without flashing
