MAF for a 3.5 V8 EFi

mine is running like a bag of ****e and have changed the coolant temp sensor and it runs fine when warm and **** when cold.

question, does the 3.9 EFi MAF fit on an 89 F reg 3.5 EFi? if so has any got one to lend/sell me so i can rule that out of the equation, thanks in advance.

PS, im over in Herts and the car is with Dave Harvey, those that know him.

Can't help with the MAF (don't think it would swap - would need change of ECU too?), but have you checked the Extra Air Valve?

Pardon my ignorance but is this the same as an 'flapper' airflow meter? If so I can loan you a known good 3.5efi one but you would have to come to Essex to collect/return.

No, it's different - relies on measuring the cooling effect of air flowing past a hot wire to measure volume of flow, instead of measuring the movement of the flap.

A 3.5 rrc is a flapper, a 3.5 disco is hot wire and a 3.9 in both is also hot wire.

Disco52's (the original poster) profile shows an RRC so I assume this is what we are talking about?

its a flapper, sourced a recon one fittted it - made no difference, on to the sensors now, there are 2 near the plenum any other to swap out? It starts and runs lumpy until warm then will run all day, it failed the MOT on the emissions as its running very rich also, thanks
