A friend of mine came to ours on Tuesday night, complaining his L plate Range Rover (Later L) was responding a bit strange. He though that his front wheel bearing's might be loose, we found this was not the case and put the vehicle down again.
On Wednesday morning he had cause to return to mine from Bangor about 24 miles away, and he took about 50 minutes getting here, on arrival he told me that he had almost lost his rear n/s wheel, and had in fact lost two wheel nut's. After a cup of tea we went out and he had told me the night before the vehicle was losing oil from the rear hub, however on removing the rear wheel I was shocked to find that the five bolt's holding the half shaft's were amost off. No wonder he'd almost lost a wheel, it had been to a garage in Ireland for a new disk, the shaft had been replaced with no gasket or sealer of any kind, and the bolt's were missing a spring washer. The vehicle was on the road a short while later, and two wheel nut's were soursed a few miles out of Holyhead.
