great intro !

why did you wait until both fobs failed to work to think about changing batteries ?
The vehicle gives you a warning that you needed to take action, which you ignored.

Did the spare fob work before this ? It does sound like it needs resynching, BUT if it had a completely flat battery in the fob, it may be beyond it's resynch window.

just out of interest, why did you hold both buttons down for 10 seconds after removing the battery ? I think is where the issue lies. When I did mine, was just split the case, change the battery and re-assemble, and it worked straight away without resynching.

generally, 5 lock button presses in quick succession next to the vehicle is the resynch procedure.

good luck though.

I used this forum as it looked like a place where answers may be useful, In response to the 1st reply, I have only had this car for a short time so was only using 1 of the keys with a fob, it took a while to find out what the beeping was from the dash. Holding the buttons down after removal of the battery was suggested by someone when searching for results on how to do this.

As for the second response, I am now thinking that I should not have joined this forum, not being funny but forums are places to go to ask questions, I did not just post the question without trying things 1st. I am now considering if I should remain here!

tbh, if that's your attitude, it would be better if you just f*cked right off now.

I was trying to give you some sensible advice, and as with all these things, it is better to start from the beginning of a diagnostic process than the middle.

How was I to know exactly what you had and hadn't tried ? There are two variants of fob, which work in different ways, and if you were to stand any chance of getting it working, there is a whole procedure from start to finish to find out what has happened, and more importantly, how to resolve it.

You clearly take objection to being asked simple questions, perhaps next time if you take the trouble to introduce yourself and say "Hi everyone, I am a rocket scientist, I have tried everything and am clearly superior to you, but can't make my key fob work" we will know in advance what kind of ****y titted bell end we're dealing with.

generally, I usually wish people asking for help good luck, but for you, I'll make an exception.

I'm not going to make it easy for you, but the answer to your problem IS ON THIS FORUM. I know it's there because I've read it, and I've just checked, and it's still there.

I could have posted a link, but I'm not even going to tell you what section it's in. I will give you a clue though...I've been on this forum since 3rd May 2007, so don't bother looking before that date. (unless it was an old thread I was reading at the time from before when I joined)
