LT77 layshaft bearings

In true Land Rover style drove 700+ miles in 4th gear with a failing lay shaft bearing. Aberdeen to Bristol.

Contemplating changing them myself or just getting an Ashcroft recon box to save time and effort.

Any thoughts?

Slightly regretting selling @dieseldog69 that old box now

unless you have a few special tools the lt77 is not the easiest,id get another, it also depends how bad it is it could be just new bearings or a scrap box

You can't fit it in your tratter mate, it's long bellhousing and you need a short one

But if you need it I can get it to you in Bristol one night this week?

56a uses many of the same parts as disco box, input shaft has 22 teeth on a 56a and disco box so you can use l/s, 50a has 21
