LT77 Bellhousing onto R380?

Will a LT77 bellhousing fit onto a R380? (200tdi bellhousing). & what parts are needed to change from shortstick (Disco) to longstick ( Defender) & are they interchangeable from the LT77 to the R380, please? I want to upgrade to an R380 (but it's a shortstick without a bellhousing) & I've got an early LT77 fitted to a 200tdi Defender.

Thanks for the guidance. I've done several searches & usually end up reading drivel from people who don't really know for hours before finding perhaps one part of what I'm looking for.
That's why I asked all the things I wanted to know in one question, I thought one of the experts who do know their stuff could answer it in one go.

it would fit ,but wouldnt help long bell housing lt77 ie disco box and r380 are the same overall length but because gearbox is longer bell housing and input shaft or shorter with the r380 ,disco lt77 can be converted to def short type but it means full rebuild and a few parts so not simple ,your best et is another def lt77 ,you can get short r380 but are rare and dear

Don't ashcrofts do a conversion kit to convert short stick R380 to longstick for fitting to a defender???

yep so do lr both arent cheap ,they both come from time just after lt77 was replaced by r380 but still needed a box to replace any warrenty failures a year or so after with lt77s
