LT230 TBox What Should i Pay?

Hi guys,

Just a quick one!

I'm pretty dam sure my Transfer box is nackerd!

Defender 90, 1996 300Tdi.

I've been offered a low mileage LT230 1.410 Ratio box for £100.

Is this about right ??

Also how long should i give my self to swap them over, having never done one before?

Anything i should look out for?

Took me a good 4 hours to swap my old transfer box out or a new one, first time I had done it, didnt know what i was doing at first, so took my time!

Ah good, well i've cleared a weekend with the missus so should give me more than enough time. might get to the pub aswell :p

Not sure the Suffix because i havnt looked but
I've got 5ltrs anyway so i guess its keep filling until it dribbles out of fill hole.

Aye, more than plenty fur yer T-box BearDy. Ye should find the number by yer filler hole...

don't forget the long headless bolt trick to help slide it away from the main box
 
Job Done!

Took me about 5 hours!!!
Having very little knowledge of landrovers and never
looked at a Tbox before i think thats not to bad.

And its cured more than one problem :-D

Thanks to all those that offered help and advice!

Hi All,

Just noitced that my Diff Lock Lights now doesnt work!

Bit of poking around and i forgot to reconnect the switch but me being me just disconnected it without looking and i now have about 5 or 6 connectors under the center floor panel.

How many are for the Difflock? and which one?
What are the others for?

Any help very appreciated!

Diff lock warning is the one on top of the 'front' of the transfer box...the long part of the housing that goes towards the front prop. Will only be a two pin connector.

To find the right plug you can turn on the ignition and bridge the two pins with a piece of wire until you get the diff lock light on :)
