hello all again
just finished my 200tdi conversion on my lr90 td.
everything is connected up and in place.
just the clutch to bleed and the fuel system, which will be getting done this morning.

last thing for me to do is the wiring for the engine. ive read many guides and they all say that the wiring is the same and should just swap straight in.
but i cant see how to be honest, there seems to be more wires from the disco than my 90.

so would really like some help please or links to guides.

i have used the search button the best i can but cant find exactly what im looking for.

any advice would be very much appriciated

tony

your new engine has the same requirements as old but you will need to extend or shorten and crimp new ends on, you need live for stop solenoid ,oil pressure switch ,temp sensor , if your old has plug for alt split and put the 2 brown wires to b+ terminal and little brown/yellow to d+ terminal ,starter obviously has battery lead as well as a few brown wires for vehicle feed and red white for solenoid, more info on your difficulties

sorry to sound completly stupid
but this is the first time ive done an engine conversion, usually only machanics.
not very good with electrics but not a complete newbie.

i need pics and diagrams if possible

thanks for reply james

leave old on vehicle remove all tdi ,lay old like it was on old on tdi and see what needs altering ,oil pressure should fit as stop solenoid ,blue temp sender might need altering using crimping pliers and terminals.starter will go back on as was alt will need plug removing as i said earlier,if wires a bit dodgy cut it out and replace using crimps eventually when you get more confident you can buy plugs connectors etc to make a neater job ,but crimps will be fine with joins

Like James said, ignore the 200Tdi loom for now, it'll only confuse you.

The wiring is in the same place except the temp sensor, it's on the front of the head rather than the back as with the old 19J.

Alt is different i assume, but i just used my 19J alt as it does the same job and requires no adjustment to the loom.
