Can anybody tell me if its possible to lock the car and not set the alarm for those odd occasions you have to nip into the shop?

If it is like the L322 then it is a single press of the fob button.
Double press sets the interior sensors.

hi
double press of the lock button disables the interiors cabin sensors , doors will lock and immobiliser set , allows dogs to move around without alarm going off

just teach the dog to sit still..
better still, teach to dog to look menacing, then you dont need to wear out the locks
