I have a set of Freelander Mk1 roof bars but no keys. I contacted Lowe and Fletcher Sales to order a cut to pattern key and gave them the number which is on all 4 key barrels. I had a reply stating " There should be a two digit prefix with this number, if it is not stamped on the lock we are unable to cut the keys." Does anybody have any idea where I can obtain the prefix numbers from please?

Hi,

There's a 99.9% chance of it being 'FH'

A bit like the locking wheel-nuts - LR did not arrange for a big set of numbers / possibilities.

Singvogel.

Are the locks locked or unlocked? I bought mine almost new but no keys for a tenner, took lock off one end and visited my local lock smith, took him 10mins to find the correct key and charged me £5.

They are all unlocked and that sounds like a great idea - many thanks.

As regards the comment above about the FH prefix I contacted Lowe and Fletcher Sales but they told me that they "do not supply FH keys but you could try a company called ‘The Lock Doctor.’ I did and am awaiting a reply
