Hello Everyone ! LR 90 soft top ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello all,

I have just bought my son a 1989 v8 Lr 90 to give him when he passes his test 3months away yet (he thinks it's for me) which we are doing up together, he reckons it would look good with a soft top for the summer, yellow paint job and big alloys, so my question to anyone with any knowledge in this area is,

1 How the hell do I make it into a soft top and where do I get a hood to fit ?
2 do I need new dampers with a 2-3" lift springs
3 what size wheels and tyres should I be looking for !

Thanks guys or gals !

Antony

Have a look in any Landy mag for a company called Paddocks. They can supply hoops and sticks (frame ), and canvas hoods in a range of colours. Be aware this is not a cheap undertaking!

BUTCHER. Leave it alone poor thing. Get a sheddy old diesel and cut that up- they're 10 a penny!;)

Undoing four bolts and some screws isn't really "cutting it up" is it?
Surley it's all about personal taste, something the Landy lends itself to quite well due to the ease of changing things.

I was more meaning the bling mods - suspension lift and yellow paint job - where will it stop? .

Hard-top will go back on easy enough.

Aaah, I see what you mean about the bling side of things and I have to agree, hopefully they wont do it all at once and stop before it gets too silly:)

Oops! No offence intended, I imagine you are a seasoned Landy owner and know exactly what you want. Just trying to ease a newbie into the spirit of things:)

You're the only one speaking sense round here. Keep it up!!

I just have a thing about suspension lifts, extreme articulation, armour plating, snorkels, diff lockers in the hands of those who haven't a clue. Having seen so many stock Land Rovers in the hands of a good drivers run rings around totally tricked up machines piloted by the ignorant I have an entrenched view that it's better to get some training than spend money on unneccessary acoutrements. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a few bits and pieces to enhance and personalise the looks of the truck - as long as you don't kid yourself that you're an off-road supremo.

If not bling, yellow paint is criminal though.
