Hi i am just wondering if any one can help me, i have a 4.6 v8 range rover which i have recently had coverted to LPG and i was just wondering how many miles i should be getting from 74litres of gas?

Thanks
Kev

I get around 180-200 mixture of round town and the
Odd longish run. Last year i got 200miles towing
My 24ft caravan at between 65-70mph through France.

Just read these posts and am now realizing just how much of a prob I have with my Lpg conversion! Bought a Range Rover vogue HSE, 4.6 V8 in December and have had it back to the converters 3 times now. It runs ok for a week or so then Lpg consumption goes through the roof (4.5 mpg!). It's cheaper to run it on petrol when it does this! According to the converters info the first 1000 miles post conversion are the thirstiest but surely it shouldn't be this bad?
Good luck with yours.

Sounds like you're being took fer a mug

Where did you have the conversion done? Was it as an approved installer?

Mine was booked in for tomorrow at Worsley Autogas but I've had to postpone while I have a wheel bearing replaced first.

My RR was converted when I bought it.
But I had a Peugeot converted and never
had a problem with consumption it ran fine on
gas from day one.

I'll be hoping for around 230-240 miles per 74 litres of gas when its done based on a pessimistic 15mpg of mixed town and motorway.

I get between 118 (round town) and 135 (long run ) miles to 43lts of gas with the single point system on my 4.6 HSE.

:welcome2:hi, where did you take it to have it checked ???? is it a multipoint ???? i have one myself and am based in m/cr would be interested to hear ?? i get approx 16-18 mpg on regular run to lincolnshire :) p.s. when was last serviced and where ??? possible that your being stiched up .will help if i can cheers mozz :)

These seem really low figures.
I get about 200 miles from a 55 litre fill up of gas. Now that involves 10 mile journeys of which a mile will be on petrol so not entirely gas (about 95%)
Over 200 and the gas runs out!
4.2 V8 single point system. I'm still happy with that as it equates to 30 ish mpg which I can live with day to day. 15mpg I can't.

hi does any one know what pressure there gas is at and what temp it switches to gas at
thanks kev

Mine switches to gas at around 1700 rpm regaurdless of temp.In the summer i just start and drive off, by the time im off the drive and onto the road its switched to gas. In the winter i keep it on petrol for about half a mile then switch over. Runs fine.

Hi Kev

I've consistently got around 260 miles from 74/75 litres of LPG since mine was converted just over a year ago. I know it's been consistent because the LPG gauge is predictably unreliable, and I use the mileage as a guide to the amount of LPG left in the tank!:)

The swap from petrol to gas is in the lpg program . It can be changed. Mine changes ovver ar tick over as long as the water is 45 deg. Also there is a time delay program , so that when you start up it will have this delay regardless of revs and water temp.
Mine is at the min settings so that I get more miles on gas than petrol. Be careful . I've only done this when I am completely satisfied that everything is running spot on, including the shortest pipe lengths between the heater pipes and vapouriser. I get 200-220 on 74 litres , less if i'm around town/ short runs
