Hi
I have been offered for free a complete Lpg system from a P38 its a single point system but thats all i know.
Im guessing it will have a donut tank which is no good, but is it worth me removing the rest and making use of it as the BRC system fitted to my 2000 disco V8 doesnt work.
Or is it a complete waste of time?

thanks for any replies

I am frankly jealous as I hear apparently quite often of peeps getting stuff for free, yet it never seems to happen to me!
If you already have an LPG system then if someone else gives you one free, you can use the bits that work and that you prefer, and replace bust bits with ones from the other, provided they are compatible, obviously!
No knocking a BRC system, they are pretty good, mine is BRC and I am very happy with it.
You say the Donut tank would be "no good". Yes. But could you not connect the new system up to your existing tank(s)?
I searched for a long time for a V8 Disco with manual box and LPG. It is a D1 not a D2 but I love it to bits.
At the very worst, you could advertise it on the "For Sale" section here.
Do you have any idea what is wrong with your system? It could be a cheap fix, even if you couldn't fix it with bits off the other one.
I have to say I am no LPG expert. I just know I cannot tell the difference between it and petrol in performance but, my God is it cheaper to run. Mine is a multi-point injection system though, I think! And you would need a multi point I believe, at least according to Tinsley.

All we need to know is that it's not good for multipoint engine
From his original post, the one he has been offered is single point, we know it is complete but we don't know if it works or not. But the one he already has on the car probably, in fact almost certainly is, multipoint. It is just ..........
as the BRC system fitted to my 2000 disco V8 doesnt work.
............not working.
So I think my original post,
It would help us if we knew a bit more about the non-functional system he already has
(fitted to his car)
...makes sense.
If he sell's the useless-to-him one, he may make enough money to repair the non-working system already fitted to his 2000 disco V8!!!!!:) It may be just the ticket for someone with a P38.
And we may be able to help him diagnose the problem with the one on his car.;)
