3.5 1988 Duel Fuel LPG. The engine backfired and blew the bottom out of the airflow meter, that I have replaced but engine won’t run properly, it runs up fine from cold revs fine then when at running temp the revs go all over the place up down off, all air pipes are in place, what other damage could have been done to cause this

i'd have another good luck at the air intake, sounds like its cracked or split something else in the backfire maybe only shows up under load when cold or when everything has warmed and softened????

are the breather ok, i cant see it parting the plenum as its bolted. it may have cracked it but i doubt it as there are other thinks less solid to split first!

Ok Guys I took the plenum off today checked inside and out all appears ok, went over all the air pipes can’t see any splits or wear on any of the pipes, put it all back together still runs up from cold then revs up and down until it stops, it’s classic air leak running but I just can’t find the fault.

just picked this tip up:

Check for air leaks around the inlet manifold/air intake using carb cleaner - spray it around the joints and if the idle picks up - bingo
