I had my p38 lowered not so long ago. I know a lot of you will probably say why?? an whats the point! but the bloke only lowered it by about 10mm. I asked him if that was as low as you could go an he said yes.

When looking at my car its really not that much lower than standard, even when in access its still got a good few inches between my 22"s an the arch.

What i want to know is. Is that really as far as it can go?? an if i buy a diagnostic cable an software could i lower it myself?? ive seen them on ebay an stuff.

any info would be appreciated.

cheers

You can only lower it as far as the lowest sensor paramiter. Standard is fronts 95-150 rears 85-130. If the sensors read, rears 85 and fronts 95 you cannot lower it any further than that. Readings will more than likely not be symetrical rears maybe 85 N/S 96 O/S. Fronts maybe 98 O/S 100 N/S those settings level the vehicle. So you cannot set anything lower than the minima. If you set them all at the lowest point the vehicle will lean.

ok thanks for the advice.
would there be any way to change the sensor paramiter?

Surely if you could do that then you could lower it to the bump stops.

I only really want an inch or so less while driving, but then i park up at a show or somthings i would like to be able to slam it, by putting in access mode.

Also do you think it does any damage to the airbags lowing more than normal?
and driving in the motorway setting on the suspension??

cheers

I dont have the money to buy 24's would like to tho.

Quite like my wheels any way but cheers

I dont think it is. there was a p38 on a mates forcourt forsale and over a month or so it dropped to the stops an it was very very low.

I may be wrong an chasing an impossible dream, but i was jus wondering if i could get it lower.

thanks for all the replies, if anyone has any solid info that would be great.

This may help but with 22' wheels u aint got too much to play with i wouldnt have thort

Curtosy of irish

standard height 100mm from bump stops

Front Rear
Extended 120-180 105-150
Standard 95-150 85-130
Low 75-140 75-120
Access 50-110 50-100

calibration blocks are primarily designed for use with Test Book and are too time consuming
with Rovacom or other software which enables changes to be made "On the fly".
Here are the values from the wheel arch to the wheel CENTRE with front tyre pressure 28psi and rears 38psi,
car must be on firm level ground.

STANDARD height 470mm +/- 7mm

HIGH profile 510mm +/- 7mm

ACCESS height 405mm +/- 7mm

**LOW profile (Motorway) height is calculated by EAS ECU and cannot be modified.

Even if you could lower it further you run an extreme risk of hitting the bump stops on the move, if you were to do this at speed it could really throw the car out of control:rolly: especially with a car that has that already has such a high centre of gravity. LR will have set it almost as low as it will safely go for driving at speed, because less air under the car means more stability, just like an F1 car.

If your main aim is to lower it for shows just get the EAS cable with a laptop and de-pressurise the system, so it sits on the stops.

If its just for driving round a show just select the manual button and put it to access, you can then drive around at that height once speed is kept below a certain mph. Its in the handbook as creep mode for underground car parks etc.

i have no idea the setup on the RR, but if you want it really low cant you cut the bracket off the bottom of the airbags and remount it an inch or so lower down? but obviously thats a bit of an extreme modification

ah well thanks for the help. looks like ill just keep it as it is.

do you think it does any damage to the airbags driving in the motorway setting. I try not to just in case it put extra strain on them or something, but i would like to know for the future?
