The biting point on my clutch peddle is getting low to the point i have to put my foot through the floor and gear changes are getting a bit notchy, the clutch does feel firm though, i have checked the clutch fluid level and it is fine will it need bleeding or is it an obvious fault, i did a search but on similar threads they mention the clutch peddle being slack where mine is firm

I had the same with my d1 changed the master and slave that made no difference so changed damper too .....nope
dropped gearbox to find my clutch fork had snapped.
Fitted new hd clutch, bearing and hd fork.
Now its like a new car again :)

different clutch fork. will be slave or master cylinder.when you do slave put a new rod in as well.

Cheers ordered a slave cylinder and push rod only £20 for the pair so will start there, can it be bleeded without a pressurised system and do it with a jam jar with some fluid in and a bit of pipe, been told its a sod to do it the latter way

Just changed the slave on my D2 about a week ago.Was getting nowhere on the bleed so used a glass about half full and the end of my bleed hose dipped in the fluid.Just watched gravity do its thing and when the bubbles looked like slowing down i started to pump the peddle and it came up really quickly with no probs since.Just remember you wont feel the peddle till you close the bleed nipple.
