I’ve a personal theory to be confirmed.

I’ve a P38 4.6 HSE (1998) with EAS system in good conditions (at least I think) but a small and under dimensioned battery (please don’t ask why).

I usually don’t have any EAS fault. But … it happens that I drive only very short journeys for a week or so and my battery get low. And it’s only under these circumstances that I sometimes get an EAS soft fault. By clearing the fault and recharging the battery (45 minutes drive on motorway) the problem disappears.

The question is: Do I have and intermittent high sensors going bad coincidentally only when my battery is low or it can be affirmed that low battery can be the cause of an EAS fault?
What’s your opinion?

P38s dont like anything but fully charged batteries, so it could well be the case that this is your problem. Try fitting a solar trickle charger to keep it topped up under £20 from fleabay or maplins

As said the ECU's in the P38 like plenty of power. Get a decent battery, C31-1000 (135AH 1000CCA) from battery megastore about £95 delivered, 4 year warranty. No I'm not connected to them.
