Loud Noise

I was driving today and was at traffic lights the lights turned green I moved there was a.loud noise. When I got to the car park and looked around it seemed OK but I started it again and moved there was something moving about the inside of the wheel .
Any suggestions

What vehicle?
What sort of noise?
Could you see anything moving about in the wheel?

It's a 2008 freelander I had a look tonight and couldn't find anything but I will give it a good look tomorrow

maybe a stone caught between the disc and guard, remove the wheel and check
