Lost Satnav Display...help!

No problem. Glad it worked. The system isn't that complicated if you are methodical. I got mine back working using the same approach. The only thing left to do on mine is to get the on board computer stuff working. That's being more of a challenge.

Only downside seems to be the satnav has no vocal instructions. I have tried the volume adjustment but no difference. Is this to be expected? Thanks again.

Assuming you've identified the TV unit as the problem, plug the satnav blue connector back into the satnav, leaving the TV disconnected. This will bypass the TV unit, I'm not sure which unit has priority over sound. This may sort your issue.

Tried this but ended up with a blank display, thanks for the suggestion.

Can't see any reason for the loss of sound. You could try pulling the fuese again and leaving it overnight. That sometimes resets things. Strange that you get a blank screen when you put the satnav back onto it's correct connector? I was told that the TV and satnav were interchangeable. A wild shot but you could check to see if the satnav connector has any corrosion or other damage.

I have had very similar problems and have been following this thread with interest.
Only I have a problem,
I have taken the blue connector out of the sat nave, but I don't appear to have one on the to unit, just a brown double, a green double and a white double....

Do you have any suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance
Chris

The blue connectors on the TV and satnav are the same. Pull the satnav and unplug the blue connector after the red light has gone out. Unplug the blue connector from the TV unit and plug that in the satnav. If you get nothing then I'd go for a display problem unless of course both TV and satnav modules have blown at the same time which is unlikely but not impossible. Have you tried pulling fuse 8 as well as 49 as that protects some of the audio system? Might be worth a go.

Just found out I have a similar problem, Satnav is backlit but dont display. This happened when I was driving but pressed the flip button (right corner) and afterward wouldnt restore.

Could you take a picture of the connectors in question so I can easily locate? Would be a massive help.

Here's a couple of photos. The TV tuner is the silver box with the blue and white connectors. The TV blue connector is interchangeable with the satnav blue connector.

The blue connector on the box under the satnav is the voice recognition box which is the one giving me issues as it has an intermittent fault which stops everything working. I've installed it backwards so that i can disconnect it easily next time it fails.

Have you looked at the connectors at the back of the CD/SATNAV unit? What is the plastic box on top of the CD/SATNAV unit, I do not remember seeing it before.

That is the Nokia phone kit thingumy.

The cd sat nav has a single blue fibre optic a double fibreoptic and a block connector but the block is nothing like any of the others

OK that's why I don't recognise it. Is it branched into the main loom? Can you remove it in case it's interfering?
I remember reading that link pieces can be obtained for bypassing a defective unit. Have a look on RANGEROVERS.NET HOME
