hey guys and girls,
Looking for a fresh pair of eyes here I’m out of ideas

P38 2.5TD

Off roading the other day and car was running sound
Soon as the mudds dried I now have no boost at all the poor girls gutless
The engine was coated in mud I’ve cleaned EGG changed vacuum pipes

You can hear the turbo wind up but no boost what so ever.....

Any guidance into the direction I should be looking next?

+1 ^^^

Or after that, if there's loads of smoke out the back then check one of the hoses hasn't let go, usually the one after the turbo and before the intercooler.

I changed the vacuum hose all yesterday made no difference
At the minute I’ve litrally got it in piece from the exhaust manifold right threw to intercooler and the inlet manifold off gonna try cleaning everything out and refitting incase muds blocking something up

I can hear the turbo winding up but litrally it’s like drive with constant turbo lag won’t go above 45mph

Worst bit is as I’m stripping it it all looks relatively fine nothing majors cropped up yet

What vacuum hose?

Quit sure I’ve found the issue turbo actuator is coated in dry mud guessing it wasn’t working because of this...

What vacuum hose?
The small rubber hoses from the vacuum/egr and bottom of inlet manifold. All were in bad shape so replaced them all incase one of them was causing a vacuum leak but like I say it made no difference.

I’m quite sure it was the actuator as it was pretty badly cake and near impossible to move so I’ve cleaned it all up and got it all moving freely and also turned up the boost a small bit to give it a bit more movement when back on the truck to try stop it happening again

The vacuum tube to the EGR actuator is best pulled off and blocked with an M5 screw between MOT's, saves all that exhaust crap going into the engine:eek::cool::cool::cool:
As you have found, if the waste gate sticks open you get no power.

The pipe from the manifold to the MAP sensor is a pressure pipe not a vac pipe. Vac pipes to EGR can't cause running problems if they are duff.

The waste gate is always hard to move but if stuck open would give your problem. Increasing boost is not a good idea.
