Hey Paul,
Yeah its an auto but I don't know whether thats having a big effect or not.
Here goes on a full list of symptoms:
RRC 3.9 with 141,500 miles on original engine. I had the camshaft changed with an uprated piper cam (I put in a mild upgrade recommended for 4x4, not a hot cam) from Kent cams not long ago, much better running after but other symptoms now noticeable.
Starts really well when cold and burbles away at 750/800 rpm. Seems to pull well when cold and then get worse as it goes along a journey but this is completely subjective, I might just be really happy that it started and every thing is rosey first thing
Once she's fully warm it runs along at between 25 and 30mph in drive with your foot of the pedal. Put it into neutral while on the move and it bounces between 1200 and 1500rpm. When you come to a stop and put it into park it revs high for a litttle bit then settles down to a reasonably consistent 800ish rpm.
Always threatens to stall when I select reverse (used to often stall before cam change)
Can be difficult to start when hot, like its flooded.
I must do a bit of research into the way the autobox interacts with the throttle. My gut feeling is that its overfueling as when it wont start when its hot you just have to leave it alone for a few minutes and then it will start.
Any suggestions?
