Freelander 1 loss of power

td4 2006.car starts and drives fine for around 30miles.then for no reason i lose power for a few seconds on and off,put my foot down a little more and power back again.no warning light comes on,car has being doing this for some time now and garage cannot find the problem any ideas please, looked for all the normal things like split pipes on vacum and turbo

An easy check is the high pressure fuel rail sensor. It suffers from corrosion on the plug contacts.
Located end of fuel rail on battery side. Release and remove plug, spray contacts and socket with contact cleaner, plug back in.
Have you had fault codes read??
