loss of power under acceleration

Hi peeps, hi just purchased a 1996 dt diesel was ok on the test drive ive noticed that under heavy acceleration I get a funny symbol can anybody help, it looks like a bit like an oblong with squirts shooting out this is on the dash next to the glow plug symbol , its the BMW engine this happens when to accelerate heavy it's an auto too

I assume it's a P38? If so that sounds like the MIL light which could be injector number 4, you could check the connector. Otherwise it needs diagnostics.
A proper intro with full details of the vehicle would help, then re-post in the apropriate section, i.e. Range Rovers if it's a P38.

Thanks I'll check that , never been on a forum befor and take you advice on board if it is that what's the fix ? Will it just be lose or somthing ? Not very mechanically minded
