Thanks to all for your help. You may recall the below thread. Thought you might like an update. Well ya - freekin-hoo. I`ve got the old tank runnin well. Almost hit 70 mph t`other day (almost hit a Transit as well, but thass another story).

Problem would appear to be the fuel line. I replaced the old butyl one with a clear plastic job. The diameter of the new one was about one mil wider than the last, which was shrunken onto the metal pipes at the carb and pump. I wuz puzzlled by the slow flow rate, and was even starting to think maybe the cam was worn as it was a new pump. S`linder pressures might not be ackurut, but there is no smoke, which if me rings were worn would surely show.

Thanks again for your help. Gotta dash. Need to drop the kids off at the pool.

Still loss of power.. what next please?
1982 109 2.25 petrol

Recently fitted unleaded head.
New head gasket
New fuel pump (AC)
New filter
Correct torque settings
New Bosch plugs
New Webber carb
Professionally tuned
Professionally timed
Have just pressure tested each cylinder 7.9 BAR 109 PSI throughout
Runs very sweetly
BUT
Gutless, Struggles to get to 45 mph
Brakes not binding
No sign of sediment in tank
No sign of air in system
Any ideas greatfully received. Make them witty I need cheering up

Thanks

Old Bloke

Yep, they may be low. I am a bit suspicous as to whether I did the readings properly. The thing is the landy is going quite well. No smoke, no exscessive fuel consumption. Do I take the head off and fiddle, or leave it alone? I think the current cold weather has just answered that. Might do it in the spring

thats what i was thinking, sounds like a very low compression head. check it again and record what compression you get on cranking with other plugs out. i would expect for compression ratio between 8 -9 : 1 to get 140-160 psi. less than that and you have a odd head. what was it supposed to be, the CR.
