Hello everyone,
My apologies if this could be a repeat or on a wrong thread. I am completely new here!
I have a Land Rover Discovery 2, V8 year 2000.
She idles well, but the problem arises when she has to move, going forward or reverse!
There is no power at all!
I have to depress the accelerator pedal gently, allow it to increase the revs, and then I would see a slow motion going forward or reverse.
Even when it moves, there is no power, a little better when the engine is warm.
If I depress the accelerator pedal quickly, she would misfire and never move at all, major loss of power.
When she moves, after a gentle depression of the accelerator pedal, there is no full power and my speed cannot reach 70 km on the dash.
At that speed, obviously on a flat terrain or down hill, I would feel her jerking slightly.
Could this be the fuel pump?
I would run for the fuel filter, but I believe this vehicle does not have a stand-alone fuel filter!
I might be wrong, but it seems like she is starving fuel.
But the misfire confuses totally.
The following have been replaced, plugs, air filter, oil & oil filter, new HT leads (these were cracked).
But the problem persists.
Kindly help?
Thanking you in advance.
