hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if there is a relay for the front window heater. i have had some work done on the engine ( which hasn't cured the problem) & now my heated front window has given up. i have checked the fuses under the bonnet & all seems ok.i haven't as yet tried to see if there is current to them yet which may be the next stage - it's just that when i press the rear heated window button i can hear a click from a relay from the fuse box under the drivers side. when i press the button for the front one now nothing happens - no light on the switch or click from a replay if there is one. i'll have to have a mooch about, but it would be helpful if i have an idea as to where to look.thanks:rolleyes:

Is it both sides of the screen? You should have a drivers half and passengers half for the heating elements. I used to have only drivers side and found the passengers side earth point had rusted up. If you have had engine work done, perhaps the main feed that the relay is switching has been disconnected somehow...

the heated front screen fuses and relay are in 2 little boxes attached to the side of box by the fuses under the bonnet, they are not in the same box as the ones under the bonnet as i found out when mine didn't work they had come away and were dangling down on top of the gearbox all shorted out and fuses melted together

I didn't know the FL had a heated front windscreen. How do you turn it on?

It's an option -

if I remember correctly it only became available when Ford bought the company because they owned the rights to electric heated front screens

In much the same way that BMW bought Landrover for the ABS and 4 wheel drive technology

its not working on both sides - the switch will not come on - it lights up with all the other switches when the lights are switched on, but when you press it in it doesn't light up orange. i have checked the fuses, but i haven't checked if there is power to the fuses.
