Hi, had a slight clicking sound in full lock on my 1997 300tdi back in the winter just after i put all terrain tyres on, it then stopped, driving back to soton on the motorway last week there was a splutter no clunk or knock, then no drive, props are not moving. tried high and low and diff lock, nothing, the diff lock light is now stuck on. the landy will be back this weekend for me to check, any tips on where to start, not sure if i could select gears without clutch will try that first.
it had a recon transferbox put on before i bought it.....possibly! gears have been good, no whinning, clunking or difficulty selecting, no clutch slip. sods law was selling it for a td5 this week. i have a spare gearbox and transferbox not sure of the history....a lot of work to find out that box is no good as well!

When my transfer box went ping that happened suddenly too. Could be that? The fact you have no drive even with difflock engaged would suggest Tbox, or possibly Gbox. Not good news I'm afraid.

never lucky, so expecting the worse. one thing i did notice when i was trying all the gears, in second gear when i pulled the low range stick hard back it engaged a gear for about 3 feet then nothing back to neutral, i think i read on here if i can select all the gears without a clutch it might be a clutch issue? will try this, then drop the inspection plates on gear and transfer box see if any filings or bits then see if anything moving with engine running, will double check these before i start

Take the cover off the back of the tbox and u will be able to see if u have drive out of the gearbox or drop the oil out and u mite see sliver paste drop the sump of it see what's happening sounds like it could be adjustment on the high low I've had it were it jumps out of low
