My 2002 TD5 Defender is using half a pint of coolant per 100 miles. It seems to be escaping out the reservoir cap regardless of how hard I tighten it. Anyone got suggestions!

Replace it? Are you sure that it's going out through the cap and not burning it or something like that?

The washer in the cap can deteriorate over time, buy a new cap.
If your stuck, take the washer off and turn it over so there is a new side to compress to.
