Loose drive when turning?

My wife has just purchased a 2001 Softback. She is complaining that when she turns sharp corners there is a judder. I have driven the little car and when on 75% or greater in either lock it feels like the brakes come on and at slow speeds it STOPS mid turn.
Any ideas? Before I have to spend my money to fix her car!!:doh:

Check the VCU. Always the first step in Hippoo driveline probs.

If it's as bad as you say then I would get the VCU checked immediately before it damages the IRD, VCU isn't cheap but it's only half the cost of an IRD

Sounds like classic VCU siezure. Take off the prop shafts and drive it mondo if you cant fix it immediately.

Does this make a noticable difference to the handling of the vehicle?

Thinking of doing this myself as I don't 'off road'.

hey guys is it as easy as just removing the drive shafts to drop down to 2wd?

i was worrying about tight vcu so ive removed props and gone 2wd(read my post)and its great!!!
