what is the vacuum cylinder that looks like a ball cock by the passenger side head lights/battery box on my 89 classic for????????made engine mounts for 200tdi conversion used originals and abit of fabrication

Vacuum chamber for Cruise Control and I think some Classics has Vacuum operated Air Vents (Recirculation I believe)

ta think air vents as pipe goes into car and it has air con am in need of bracket to mount pump onto tdi?????

You are right about the air/recirculation flap, one of LR's 'improvements' for the '87 model year, even if the car does not have cruise control - prior to that the flap was operated by a simple linkage from the dash control
