Hi all

As the owner of a lotus already (Lots of Trouble Usually Serious!) I think I might be a sucker for car with character/ niggles as my wife drove my friends defender 90 td5 recently and loved it so looking to see weather it is possible to get one for her. She works in forestry so does need an odd road capable car (currently has a Skoda yeti) defender prices seem bonkers but still going up? A good one might be out of our budget so maybe a project? Other option is a half way house of a free lander 2 which I am keen on but she has her heart set on a defender I think!
Any cars for sale or any advice much appreciated

I myself would prefer a disco 3 but too big for her

Cheers paul

Freelander 1 are functional if maintain well. Cheaper than defenders and easily ideal to covert from hairdresser mode to tough grass terrain.

Your Lotus would be the most reliable vehicle you own if you buy a Disco 3.........keep looking for a Defender/series3 and dont forget the razor blades for when it all goes t1ts up

Hi and welcome!

Defenders are great vehicles but prices are ridiculous now, even for those needing work. A good alternative is a disco 2. Much less problematic than a disco 3 and cheaper to run.

Whatever you do get, let us know.

I would be keen for a disco 2 but she says they are too big! Any hints and tips of how to convince her much appreciated!

maybe the 3.2 petrol free lander would be a more exciting option if looking at freelanders?

cheers paul
