ite be a good idea to prep the alloy with a suitable etch primer furst.

nope - it needs to be an "aluminium etch primer"

Yer can get etch primer from Halfrauds if you're really desperate - oh, and welcome!

just make sure you get a big spongy roller otherwise yule have the bumpy bits of yer..... blurgh!... black and the not bumpy bits will still be silver.. best idea is to take it off and throw it away
