thank you everyone for all your help and advice, it was a great response from everyone and helped a lot, settled on a vub503760 on the nose (a great price by the way) and going to try the cling film trick on the corners. Thanks again everyone.

I hate to say it but from experience of driving through narrow hedges the biggest concern will be the loud scraping sound down the side of the car as the bushes make a hundred key scratches in the paint, not front pushing it out of the way. How do you plan to address that?

We live on a "back section" with a shared drive coming up to our and next door's houses. Its a great drive with mature trees, bushes and ferns on either side and growing over forming a 'canopy'. Its a lovely drive to have - when we viewed the place we parked on the road and walking up the drive I was sold on the house even before I saw it!

However, we now have 5 years of scratches up the side of the car! Its also cost us a couple of wing mirrors and next door has a lovely dent high up on the rear quarter panel of their Landcruiser from an enthusiastic reverse exit one day.

A good coating of Carnauba wax will help shrug of light scrapes from bushes.
A wrap of cling film will help protect the sides from the worst of it too.

Now I see everyone with their pictures of the A bars fitted and I think "should I keep mine rather than sell it?" They do look good....

I bought one as well, at that price it would be cruel not to.
arrives tomorrow
I believe it's a clearance price. The LR RRP is much higher than the Rimmers current selling price.
I've seen them selling, second hand on Ebay for more than the Rimmers new price recently too.
