Hi. I’m looking to buy a 2.25 diesel engine for my series 3, is anybody selling? A good runner to a fully restored unit all considered

You shouldn't be posting Wanted ads, as you don't have 50 posts on the forum.

And considering your location, you might be better off advertising locally, shipping is likely to be expensive.

Series diesels aren't very good engines anyway.

Goodness me! I didn’t realize there was Landy Zone police, I do however apologize for breaking the rules regarding my search for a replacement 2.25 diesel engine…I was totally unaware. Whilst I live in Spain I fortunately have drivers coming back and forth from the UK almost weekly so I didn’t see that as an issue. Again, my apologies 👍🏻

Ive got a working tranny 2.5di pre banana engine with manifold, pump and a milner plate and adapted engine mount taken out of a series 3, £500 and can deliver to Plymouth ferryport if paid for up front,
Not a 2.25 but could get you mobile,

It is pretty clearly explained at the top of the For Sale and Wanted section.

We are all the LZ police. Just be glad that @gold rover didn't spot it!

I haven't reported your post, despite your being a law breaker, as I felt sorry for you, living in Spain and having a diesel Series is a heavy burden to bear.

They are easy to rebuild and there are lots of "pallet" engines around that although unknown most likely don't need that much work. Over lockdown I helped a friend put a 2.25 in his series 1 to replace the Peugeot conversion that had thrown a rod. picked an engine up for £50 that had been sat in the back of a garage for years but "was running when removed". We got the engine running straight off the pallet to prove it worked and then gave it a light top end rebuild, checked the bottom end and replaced the timing sprockets and chain, that was all it needed.

just removed one from my series 3 .. 3 bearing , complete with new rad and exhaust front to rear .

PM me if interested
