Series 3 2.25 diesel kangarooing

Hi, my s3 109 2.25 diesel kangarooing very badly generally usually when on overrun.
Otherwise runs like a dream; starts no problems, ticks over and pulls really well, absolutely no smoke whatsoever (60k miles). chassis, springs all sound, shocks new, injectors good, new fuel lift pump...mystery.
any ideas or experiences appreciated

Mine only did it in reverse. Shiney old clutch.

Are the control levers working freely and engine mountings ok.

Rear prop slider worn?

Thanks all, I already started removing the floor panels before posting to drop back the box, as well as suspecting prop. Will swap out clutch first and see. Hard to tell about the control levers as once it starts they definitely don't help. I have the cable kit so may improve that. Will let you know.

Have you got a cable or a rod setup? Cable is generally better

On my cable set up the clevis pin had worn so was constantly getting fluctuating throttle.

I find it easier to pull the engine to do clutch.
