Looking at an import.

Guys, in my search for a decent Disco I'm going to view an import tonight. At the moment I'm not sure where it's it's been imported from but I do know the odometer is in kilometres. It's done 163k and cam belt changed at 130k, been serviced by a friend who has garage & mot station; but no history.

Couple of questions if I may

How easy is it to change the speedo to mph?

What else should I be looking for as it's an import?

Any input appreciated.

Its probably come back in from Japan, which means it will be rust free.

Give it the usual checks for what works etc, the speedo is simply a case of changing the clocks I think, it should have been done however when it was 1st brought back into the country.

Buy a set of clocks on ebay, piece of cake to fit.

or just keep it original and leave the kph clocks. All i did with my jap import was mark 30, 50 and 70 and you can work out the rest yourself.

Jap imports generally have less rust but make sure the chassis has been waxoyled as they dont bother over there and with the british winters it dont take long to ruin them.
