Look For Some Advice Regarding Velar Power Tailgate Struts

Hope everyone is well. I am having a bit of a nightmare with replacing my faulty electronic tailgate struts for the power tail gate of my velar. Any help appreciated. I have the new set ready to go, the issue I'm having isn't removing the old struts as such. It's getting to the connecter to connect the electronics for the new struts. The connecter is not under the trim where all the typical wiring is but instead under a trim on the vertical part of the tail gate at the sides. The trim over the top of this doesn't look like it can be removed easily because the hinge bolts for the tailgate go through this trim.

Does anyone know how to get access to the connector to connect the electronics of the new strut. There seems to be lots of info online for the Range Rover sport which seems easy enough as the connectors are under the main trim where all the other wiring is for the lights etc but I can't find any info on the velar.

Can suggest just pulling on the likeliest places to remove, can't be that hard because the track rats in the factory fit em in about 90 seconds
