Just had a cat back stainless steel exhaust fitted to my 1994 3.9 EFI V8 discovery and i have not stopped smiling since :D . Its much much louder than i thought and i have not ever heard a car like it.

I would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks Rob

P.S. The whistling noise at the beggining is my camera, its a it knackered.

The engine was already warm, i never ever rev on start up on a cold engine. Its ok on a warm engine even then i did not go above 3000 RPM. Look no smoke from the exhaust i also only use fully synthetic oil and change oil every 3000 miles.

Dont sound as nice as my cat back Janspeed system, although the Janspeed is a little bit quieter it has a better tone and because it's tuned to the engine it doesn't pop on the overrun.

But then it's not just a stainless steel exhaust it's a Janspeed stainless steel exhaust.

You were'nt to know it was warm but i do cringe when people start ther cars up in the morning and rev it hard. To make sure the oil gets round when the engine is cold, is to turn the engine over only for a couple of seconds not allowing it to start...then start it. Everyone knows the v8 is bullet proof but they normally need a new camshaft at 100K because oil can take its time to get round.

Have you got in on youtube cuz i would love to hear it. My system is a double s with no front silencer just straight pipe from cat to rear silencer.

Thats why its loud then Robs, I should have known the mid box was missing. It's the mid box thats gives the tone and the amount of sound at the tail pipe.
The exhaust is balanced to the induction so with the mid box now missing your getting that popping on the overrun. Perhaps the engine is now running leen. Not a great problem u just need someone to look into the engine management.
Disco is not on utube but may now do it, I will let u know.

Regards

The engine is running fine and i think what your hearing as a popping i am hearing as just some sound resonating in the rear silencer maybe a bit of backpressure but its definately running very well. Thanks though.

Thanks you 2 above!!! on the whole i have had negative responses cant see why? It is louder and deeper sounding in real life and only cost £189 pounds for the whole exhaust.
