long time since I posted on here, my RRs seem to be very reliable, generally fix everything myself but Im stumped on this and thought Id reach out to you guys for some feedback.

2004 RR 4.4 petrol

short version.

air bag light on.
says ...Ignition circuit head airbag rear left coding is faulty
says ...Ignition circuit head airbag rear right coding is faulty

reseting works whilst engine is running and you can drive all day with the warning light off,...but switching off ignition and turning the ingnition to key position 2 brings the air bag warning light back on again.

any ideas, anyone...

thanks,

Ian

The model and year of car would help. Generally low battery volts can cause that kind of problem and ignition switches are also known to fail with high resistance contacts.

Hi Datatek, I think I will try to remove the ignition switch, its not smooth when I turn the key, the barrel is ok though, and the fault only comes back when I turn off the ignition, battery seems ok ..hopefully there is a connector box at the bottom of the barrel which is seperate to the barrel and can be bought from LR.

I think you pointed me in the right direction ..thanks..

Ian
