Freelander 1 Locks & Fobs

Hi, I've just brought a 52 plate 3 door TD4 (as a donor car - mine's a 5 door TD4) - Is it possible to change all the locks along with the fobs without re-programming anything? - Cheers

The fobs will need programming into the CCU - presumably though if the key is separate to the fob you could replace the keys & locks - so depends if the key is the fob or they are separate.

Can I just change the CCU as well?

Will the CCU work in 5 door config - eg locking (and windows?) on 3rd & 4th doors?

I think you would also need to take over the ECU, that then may conflict with the mileage on the dash?

I believe a Hawkeye will program the fobs to the CCU.

What it is my car only has one key and no fobs, my donor car has 3 keys and two fobs....What I wanted to do was use the 3 keys and the two fobs from the donor on my car

It's not as easy as you think. Like GG said, lots will need changing over and possibly some programming too. It might be easier to simply have the new fobs coded to your car, along with the keys.

Can Hawkeye program second hand fobs?

If the keys are original on the three door that links with the ignition when starting then you have to change the rest. I had a choice of forking out for a keyset and barrel to match mine or buy without the keycode cheaper type. I looked at my moth ridden wallet and picked a cheaper route. By chance having the fuel regular used my cheaper key opens this but not the able use on the tailgate. I still use the original key for ignition and tailgate and my fob sparingly while constantly use my cheaper key open the drivers door. After spending money replacing the drivers door lock thinking this had failed originally only to find that a key barrel designed by a LR moron using the most pathetic weak metal. A message for Land Rover drivers having problems with drivers door locks not working search cost of replacement with keycode and non keycode variety first. You can fix it with metal glue or live with using the fob. But the issue the design flaw by Able Dimwitt Land Rover.
