There seem to be plenty of locking nuts for steel wheels that fit the D1 and Defender but can anyone tell me if they have locking nuts for their steel wheels on a D2?

Surely the threads are the same on D1 and D2, so you can use D1 nuts, or standard D2 locking nuts. May not look brilliant, but should work.

Could make your own :p simple enough take an old nut, grind it round on edges and then make a couple of small square cuts in it and produce a key to fit

As long as you don't grind into any of the part thats meant to lock it to the stud, i.e. the taper at the base it should be fine, or drop one at an engineering shop and have them make you four to the same ish taper and thread pitch

I was under the impression that the threads were different? Am I wrong? If they are the same then it's a pretty stupid question Iasked. :p

Found this online -
"Disco 1 are 12mm diameter and Disco 2 14mm diameter.

Not compatible. The disco 1 wheels are larger PCD and smaller diameter than the Disco 2.

Steel wheel nuts for the Disco 2 are smaller in the body than the alloy nuts, the alloy nuts have a larger surface area for clamping the wheel."

So I can't use D1 nuts as I thought. B**ger!

I'm not handy enough to make my own locking nuts for my steel wheels. So looks like I'll have to do without. Can't see why they make 'em for D1 and Defender but not D2? Surely just as big a market??

Ach well, not to worry. It's only nuts!

Oh, meant to ask if anyone knows the thread size for the D2?

Are they 14mm 2.0, 14mm 1.5, etc? Bit confused about thread sizes evidently! :(
