Hi all
Both front Doors on our spare FL1 are locked and won't unlock, i origionally put it down to it sitting idle but now i'm not so sure.
All the doors worked perfectly before being taken off the road and now the fronts won't unlock but the rest will.
What i need to know is there an alternative way of unlocking the doors without destroyng the door cards or the doors

cheers

How are you unlocking it? Key or fob?

Do the knobs pop up on the doors to indicate that they should be unlocked?

If you can access via the back doors, does the unlock button on the dash/console make any difference?

no the buttons don't come up and they don't unlock with the internal switch and i can't unlock the drivers door with the key either

It's strange it's not opening with the key, but I suspect that the deadlock motors have failed. Have you checked that you're getting the unlock pulse to both motor feed wire's?

Not yet but i find it more concerning that even if the deadlocks are on or not you can't unlock them by using the inside door handles, i thought it was a safety feature to be able to open the doors from the inside regardless

Deadlocks are just that, the vehicle can't be opened from the inside or out.
The vehicle is safe when driven, as the deadlocks should only activate when locking with the remote.
Once unlocked with the remote, the doors aren't deadlocked any more, so the inside release levers work again.
It sounds like both motors have failed in your doors locks, which is why they're not releasing from inside.

Thats what i'm beginning to think, the next question is how to get the doors unlocked without causing major damage

Tricky one. It's very hard to remove the door card with the door closed, but not impossible.
Once the door card is off, you can get to the door lock assembly, but even then disabling it isn't easy.
There is a way to get it to release, but can't remember how to do it now.

However I'd be checking that there is a power pulse at the door lock before getting more aggressive with it.
