Hi All

Lock out, No Start & Battery Drain is this all fixed by Part # YWY500170 Modded RF Reciever Module?? thanks

Edit:
I forgot to ask, is this a DIY jobby? if it is anyone know whats involved? and is there a DIY link some place

Thanks all

Yes, it will resolve your problems if your lock out is caused by a flat battery.

Your battery is being drained because your car is being woken up by radio interference.

The new Rf receiver will resolve that.

Its a 30 minute job.

Thanks alfie looks like a simple enough job to do, i will look around and see if i can get one nice and cheap

Just rang a Land Rover Dealer i asked for a discount and he sold it to me for £110 so thats not bad at all cheapest i could find before that was £120, so im happy, will fit it when i get it, thanks for your help

Tony

Yea i rang them up already, one on ebay now for £90, oh well......i should have looked first

Blimey what a difference it makes, just putting the alarm on and off, before sometimes when it was bad the "reach" of the alarm was terrible, i was having to put the key fob up against the window sometimes to unlock it, locking the door that was already locked to unlock it!!! the best i ever hope to get was 2m away (if i was lucky), now that i have changed it to the new one i went across the road 10m away and it locked it, i don't know what my maximum distance is yet, for the "reach" of it, but i’m well happy, it took literarily 5 mins to do, take the parcel shelf out fold up the back seat on the drivers side, pop out 5 press studs, and unhook the 3 latches against the window, (or just 1 or 2 and use a stubby Phillips screwdriver) unscrew the 1 screw holing the part down, pull it up at and angle and take out the 2 connectors, put them in the new part, angle the part so the lug goes back in screw it down again, and push the parcel shelf home, 5 push studs back in, parcel shelf back on and the jobs a good’un it took me just 5 mins to do, (I timed it)

Hopefully the reason I changed it has also been sorted out, BMC staying alive most of the night (and day) draining my battery 24/7 and also the lock out when I go to built up arias with people using gadgets with 433 Mhz the old part had a lot wider bandwidth so it would pick up over and under that bandwidth, it now ONLY picks up 433 Mhz

There was one it went i think for £90 Mat, but not being a trusting sole, its easy to swap your old one put it in the new box with your receipt, and sell it on as the new upgraded one (No part # on it, just on the box) so you end up swapping a naff part for another naff part, spend the extra, ask the dealer for a discount (it cost me £110) and get a part you know will be correct, ok i know there ate a LOT of very honest people selling stuff on Ebay (i’m one of them :D) but there are some bad boys out there that would do that, so for the extra £20 you’ll have peace of mind!!

I used a Landy dealer in Nottingham (i Live nr Heathrow) but its the best dealer i have used free postage too, and a lot more helpful than my local dealer (only 1/2 a mile from me) who i don't now use, ring them on 0115 9578000 ASK for the discount, if you don't then you wont get it
