Well Ive just plugged the Range Rover into my mates scanner, and got some data. Not had it running long as I have whinging neighbours who are apparently reporting me for starting my Range Rover up last weekend and revving the balls off it. Anyway I only had it on for a about a minute at a time a couple of times before the battery went flat.
The 02 sensors odd and even went from 5v not running to 3 and 2 volts when running. So believe they are not a problem.
The fuel temp I believe went from 11*c to 14*c so that seems to be working.
The fuel level went from 2.12volts I think to 2.06volts when running.
Coolant temp sensor moved from 10*c to 22*C so that looks to be working ok.
Throttle pot when working was on 14% whatever that means?
But both the Bank trim A and Bank trim B didnt change value from 0% running or not. Also the Air flow showed no readings either.

Anyone shine any light on the data above, please bear in mind it wasn't running long at all, but charging the battery as we speak, then going to try and take it down my moms to leave it running.
Are the banks related to the air flow? In which case does that mean I will get away with just buying a new air flow meter, which was replaced before but with an ebay special? When I get the battery charged I'll replace the air flow sensor with the original one to see if that gives any readings.

firstly, tell your neighbours to **** themselves, noise restrictions usually apply only during 8pm - 6am and thats usually only applied in the case of construction!!!

by the time the env health have looked into it then it'll be old news!!!

i suspect the maf/trims werent supported pid's on the scanner, unfortunately these are required. unless of course the engine ecu isn't getting these readings either!!!

The neighbours were moaning about the fumes aswell lol. Don't know whether they should be coming up, it was picking up everything else, but thats the thing is this going to be an ecu fault. As for the maf, it does look like the one on ebay, it has suffered a few blow backs from the gas before I unplugged the gas, which did result in the air filter and the mesh out the maf finding themselves down the road. I just been out and tried the old maf back in and still 0 readings for the maf. The scanner is top of the range Snap On, so should be good enough to get the rreadings but don't know. This is the set up it comes up with on the screen
Throttle (V) 1
AMFR (KG) 6
FMFR (GM) 0
Gearbox Retard (%) 12
02 sensor odd (f) 5
02 sensor even (f) 5
Fuel temp (*c) 11
Fuel Level (v) 2.12
LAVC Pos. (stp) 111
Run Line pos. (stp) 71
Trans idle(step) 7
Adap Idle (step) 251
Engine rpm 000
Coolant temp sensor(*c) 22
Throttle pot (%) 14
Bank TRIM (%) 0
aIR fLOW (KG) 0
fuel system state 01
Bank B trim(%) 0

So is it safe to say Im going to need a new maf? Also are the fuel trims related to the maf?

if yours is the same one as the one i got off ebay i had to send mine back because it was faulty and bought a genuine one and it works fine now

Was you having the same problems as me Kev? No idle, ran on "choke" then die? Then when started misfiring and sounding flooded? Where did you get your genuine one from? How much?
Seized mechanical advance weights give those symptoms

i didnt have those problems but got mine from a used car parts place in glastonbury (cws4x4.co.uk) it was just under 90 pounds
