Limp Home mode

My friend's D2 M and S lights are on and it's gone into Limp Home mode! If he disconnects the battery, will it reset itself and drive normally? He's in France so I can't just nip around and have a look at it!

mine resets just by turning ignition off, i take it he's already tried that ?

He said it's back to normal now but I was just wondering if there was a relatively easy way to get it to reset itself.
