Stupid ,I know But i left the lights on Including headlights and of course flattened the battery, It was in daylight
So my question is, does the P38 have an audible warning when lights are on and you remove the ignition key?

Many thanks Brian

Yes, it beeps and tells you that the lights are on :)

Yes, mine beeps at me if I open the door with the lights still on. It also says "lights on" or something in the message centre I think, but I'm not too sure about that.

Also, if you turn them off after switching off the engine, they stay on long enough for you to get to your front door - something like that anyway. I've done it by mistake a couple of times.

Well, you can leave the sidelights on on mine without it reminding you and without them going off! I agree the headlights go off (followme home), but the sidelights don't - at least not on mine...

You had to go out and check, didn't you?

G~
No...but it did take me by surprise the first time I accidently set them off...took me a few minutes to realise what I had done...!!!

Ignition key out with the lights still on...then turn the lights off, and they will remain on for X amount of time!!!!

(My delay in posting was cos I had a shower)

That's OK then. Mine hasn't got footwell lights or, if it has, they don't work. That surprises me.

I drove an Oldsmobile or Buick that had them. Singularly pointless but I thought that they looked quite cool.

Hi Everyone
Thank you for your reply, On revisiting the owners handbook i did find a reference to said alarm, (it was quicker to ask the forum!!) Now it would appear that this is not working on mine, any ideas please
Brian

Do you get bongs for other things like Door Open, Ignition key in, etc etc.....if you don't but you get a message displayed...your sounder is kaput...

If you don't get a message or a bong....maybe the BeCM has been set to ignore such a thing and not warn you about it!!

Hi
Yes , I do get Bongs !!, when showing warnings for other things, bonnet open is often showing (I am at this moment looking for the micro switch)
But nothing for warning when the lights are left on

Intriguing....maybe it is model specific...refresh the brain, which model you got??

I believe the Bonnet switch is built into one of the bonnet latches on the slam panel...will have to check RAVE...!!

Bonnet Switch....

Switch for bonnet is looking from front of car into engine bay. On L/H bonnet catch. Bit of a fiddle to get at.

Hi
Thank you Wammers, Not to much of a job to fix!! the micro switch, removed from its holder and small ty-wrap around operating pin, until i can obtain another
Any thoughts as to how the warning message/ buzzer is operated for the lights on warning?

Not certain but think it maybe switchable in BECM. Mine certainly beeps if you leave the side lamps on and open the door. Maybe not if you select parking lamps though. Flasher arm down for left and up for right.

Just had a quick look does not seem switchable but there are lots of things to go through.
