hope this is in the right place, im after a wiring diagram of how to wire in my light bar. it has 4x 100w bulbs, now i no these are illegal to use on the road. ideally what i would like to do is wire them into my main beem but with a switch, so i can still use main beem on the road but when im off road can flick the main beem on and then switch the for the light bar. i thought this would be quiet easy and just splice into the wires by the head light, but from research on the net it seems i need relays 1 to each pair of lights. if someone could draw me a basic drawing that would be fantastic. thanks in advance

Basically you wire them up in pairs to a relay with a twin feed going to the main beam and a switch, the switch that cuts it off should be wired up into the cab between the main switch for the second feed

……….if memory serves me correctly

Did you have a look at the link in my previous post?

That was for a fitting a lightbar onto a D1, and includes a diagram for 2 x pairs of lamps.

The only difference was that 'sniffmydiff' wanted the option to switch them on without main beam, so my solution was to use a 3-way switch.

For your requirements, you would just use an on/off switch to interrupt the relay's trigger from the main beam.

You could do this quite neatly, by using another binnacle or facia switch, so that it looks 'factory'.

I can suggest suitable switches, if that's what you want to do.

yes iv had a look its a great help thank you, id searched google previously and found this group and thought someone could help me so thank you very much. i had thought about getting a switch to look factory fitted, i dont no how fimiliar you are with my truck (probably more than me lol) but to the left of the ashtray theres a bank of 4 switches the middle 2 pull out so was going to pop to to my local landrover place and see if they could get the switch for there

For that position on the facia, there's a 2-switch carrier AWR1198LNF -

Britcar (UK) Ltd > AWR1198LNF SWITCH HOUSING - 2 SWITCH CONSOLE DIS(G)

And a 3-switch carrier AWR3330LNF -

The best switch to use in that position would be the front fog lamps switch AMR4138 -

This switch is a latching on/off switch, designed to switch the live side of a circuit.

It has an appropriate illuminated symbol, and a 'tell-tale' that lights when the switch is in the 'on' position.

It also uses the Green 5-way switch connector (see the link in my signature :D)
